Although many believe that rappers are less-educated, some rappers pursued higher education and some earned a degrees, others dropped out to pursue a career in music.
Let’s see the top 10 most educated rappers.

1) Tracey Lee (Howard University & SULC)

Best Known for his commercially successful single “The Theme (It’s Party Time)” and his collaborated with The Notorious B.I.G. He earned a degree in Communication at Howard University and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge.

2) David Banner (Southern University & UMES)

Lavell William Crump best known as David Banner, attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, earning a bachelor’s degree in business. He served as president of the Student Government Association while in Southern. He also attended the University of Maryland Eastern Shore for a master’s degree in education before leaving to start a full-time career in music. Like most rappers, Banner is also an actor.

3) Ludacris (Georgia State University)

This rapper and actor is also an entrepreneur. He earned a degree in music management at the Georgia State University. The degree has definitely helped Disturbing tha Peace, a record label he co-founded. He’s involved in several ventures which include Soul by Ludacris headphones, and Conjure cognac.

4) Sean “Diddy” Combs (Howard University)

In 1990, this music mogul started attending the Howard University as a business major but left after two years to work as intern at New York’s Uptown Records. Diddy is the most business savvy rapper, his intelligent business decisions has made him incredibly successful. He is now the second richest rapper on the planet.

5) Lil’ Wayne (University of Houston & University of Phoenix)

Born Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., Weezy studied at University of Houston in 2005, earning good grades before dropping out. He took online courses with University of Phoenix as a psychology major.

6) Kanye West (Chicago State University)

Although he received a scholarship to attend American Academy of Art in 1997, Kanye West instead attended Chicago State University, where his mother was a professor before dropping out.

7) Common (Florida A&M University)

Lonnie Rashid Lynn, Jr. formerly called Common Sense attended Luther High School South in Chicago and studied business administration at Florida A&M University under scholarship for two years.

8) Talib Kweli (New York University)

Talib Kweli attended Connecticut’s boarding school, Cheshire Academy. He also studied at New York University, majored in experimental theater. Talib comes from a family of intellectuals, his mother is an English professor, his father an administrator at Adelphi University and his younger brother a graduate of Yale Law School is a professor of Constitutional Law at Columbia Law School.

9) Rick Ross (Albany State University)

William Leonard Roberts II known by his stage name Rick Ross graduated from Miami Carol City Senior High School,  and attending Albany State University on a football scholarship before dropping out. He also attended South Florida Correctional Officer Academy and worked as a corrections officer in Florida between 1995 to 1997.
