Meek Mill has another beef brewing. The Philadelphia rapper and 50 Cent exchanged words on Instagram on Sunday afternoon (Jan. 17), all stemming from shots Meek Mill threw at the G-Unit mogul on a new song called “Gave ‘Em Hope.”
The drama began on Saturday (Jan. 16), when Meek Mill released four new songs including the song “Gave ‘Em Hope.” On the track, the MMG rapper fired at 50, who has been in a much-publicized back-and-forth with Meek’s labelmate Rick Ross.
“You popping shit on your Instagram/ Shit that you’re popping ain’t adding up/ Shit that you’re popping ain’t making sense/ I got fifty reasons say you’re taking dick/ And it’s fifty reasons I should kill, nigga,” raps Meek on the second verse.
“You know the game, if you cosign a rat, you forever a rat/ We were never with that/ You tried to go “Money” May with that paper, but now you in debt cause you never was that/ Fuck is you high? You know better than that,” he continues, referring to 50 Centposing in a photo with Rick Ross’ former groundskeeper at an Effen vodka event, months after the groundskeeper filed charges against Rozay for allegedly kidnapping and assault.
A day after the song came out, 50 wasted no time responding to Meek in an Instagram post. “LMAO Hey shit head, your career is over already.you better focus on getting Nikki pregnant so you can at least get child support girl,” said 50. “Hip Hop’s first retarded MC. This nut make philly look bad. I got put some new philly artist on because this fool. SMH. But your honor, I’m not a gangsta, I’m just retarded. Look I went at DRAKE, FUTURE, and 50cent. Smh Shit head!,” he continued in a series of posts.
Meek Mill responded soon after, firing back in a long rant saying “U pop shit on social media 24/7 … U never in the places everybody b at…. The whole queens say you a rat…. Ross baby mom hit you for that check you sick …. Ross finished you “career over? How dare you speak on that? …. All you artist that came under you broke” ya son hate you smfh!.”
He even took time to quickly address Toronto Councillor Norm Kelly, who was a big Drake supporter during the Canadian rapper’s battle with Meek. Shortly after Meek released those new records, Kelly posted a photo on Twitter directed at Meek Mill. “This my last insta-fingers post for a min lol Norm Kelly hold up…… Young black dude that came from nothing vs old white racist man from Toronto…. I got more money than you already? You took the real “L” in life champ!, said Meek to Norm Kelly.
